homeless manStarted as a men’s hostel in Hamilton in 1961, Good Shepherd Centre has grown to become the greater Hamilton area’s largest social service agency. Good Shepherd Centre endeavors to extend to all, hope, unconditional love, dignity and respect, committing to compassion, acceptance and understanding of the human condition.

The Centre assists thousands of people every year with emergency programs that provide the basic necessities of life such as food and shelter and rehabilitative programs that offer guidance, give hope and restore dignity. It serves troubled youth, abused women and children, the dying, the mentally and physically challenged, the hungry and the homeless. The ultimate goal is to support people through crisis and assist them in reestablishing healthy and productive lives in the community. The Centre’s services are free of cost and are available to anyone in need.
